Ecclesiastes 1:6 The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according to his circuits.
John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Teaching [Past posts below]
This Sunday I went to Real Life Corpus- and talked about some of the verses that Pastor Micah spoke on as well as the verses from the Sunday Mass.
I noticed the readings from the priest [on the radio] were a little different from what I read-
but I taught from both either way.
Pastor Micah spoke from James-
The brevity of our lives
James 4:13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
James 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
Do we really live with this mindset?
The only lasting thing is the Word of the Lord- and the people who believe in the Word- the gospel- will live forever.
Yes- most of us ‘realize’ this- but do we live our lives with the conscious thought that the stuff around us doesn’t really count for much?
I had an ‘impression’ the other day- I thought what would happen if we died- and then ‘woke up’ and saw all the things we did in this life- the buying and selling and getting gain- what if our eyes were opened and in a moment of time we realized it was all Monopoly money.
Yes- the time spent in making it- teaching others how to make it- maybe an entire life focused around it- and then at the end- it was actually just Monopoly money.
In reality that’s really about as lasting as the real stuff- those who plan their lives around living in this life only-
That’s the context of the verses above-
A few verses down James says it like this-
James 5:1 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.
James 5:2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.
James 5:3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.
That’s the context.
One of the verses from the mass was found in the writings of Paul-
Colossians 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Colossians 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Colossians 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Colossians 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
I actually tried to teach the entire chapter- the verses from the Mass focused more on the end of the chapter-
But the portion above fits in with today’s theme-
Our life here is a vapor- but our life with God- that’s the one that counts.
And if we believe- then we are indeed joined to him now- we are ‘risen with him’ and united with him now.
If so- then we set our affection- our purpose- our mindset on things above, on things that have eternal value.
Paul goes on to contrast the works of the the flesh with the life of the Spirit- [Some sites see here https://ccoutreach87.webstarts.com/blog/post/sunday-sermon-225
Colossians 3:8 But now ye also put off all these; anger,
